I was born in Bucharest, Romania and I still live there.
I have been interested in drawing and painting from a very young age, but only started to give it more importance in my early teen years.
KatharSIN (from "katharsis"=purification through art; combined with the english word "sin") is my art project, it represents everything i have created in the last 4-5 years. I came up with this name because that is what art has always been for me: it comes from pain and sin and it transforms into something beautiful. Each and every one of the drawings in the "Lysergia" collection (name comes from Lysergic Acid Diethylamide - LSD; something lysergic meaning something trippy, born from hallucinations; i personally can relate my drawings to the term, although they have not been conceived under the influence of any hallucinogenic substance) has a special,unique meaning for me and, hopefully, they will have a meaning for you too.
I use mixed media to create my art. I use traditional media such as pencils, pens, pastel and ink, as well as digital media such as Photoshop and Photoscape editing, sometimes combining both traditional and digital to come to a final result that suits my initial idea.
